Dear God,
Today Harold had his cancer surgery. My husband was nervous, yet, determined to trust Dr. Somani to remove the melanoma and basal cells on his face and nose. He placed his trust in him and in you.
After the procedure was done, I was invited back to the surgery room. When I walked in, what a sight beheld me. Harold was sitting up in the chair and hanging on every word of the doctor who was sharing his Muslim faith. A devout man in love with God and the world, desirous of peace for all and committed to sharing love with those around him, the music playing in the background was familiar. "When we've been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun, we've no less days to sing God's praise than when we first begun."
A Christian and Muslim sharing in a hospital for sick people was music to my own soul. The thought you would exclude people because they look different, sound different, act different, believe different or practice different does not make sense to me. Your kingdom is home to all your children and I walked into that home today and it made me smile and give thanks.
Bless you,
O God,
for your
holy ways.
Thank you
for love
that embraces all.
Thank you
for faith
that makes us one
with all
your children.
Love, Andrea
