Dear God,

Sometimes when we look in the mirror we fail to see who we really are.  We see ourselves through clouds of doubt, self denial and fear.  We only see in part and miss who you see.

The world tries to paint a picture of our self.  They tell us so many negative things.  And, of course, they have the remedy for us by telling us to use this or that, do this or that or be this or that.  But all they are doing is laying layers of stuff, ugliness and artificial makeup to make us into something we clearly are not. 

Your message is so different.  You message is to see the inner beauty of the image you created.  You show us our hidden qualities, gifts of courage, strength, and wisdom.  You help us see love staring back.  You reveal that part of your self that lives within each of us.  No matter our condition you bless that image because it is yours.

for your compassion
that holds us
when we succumb
to the
world's vision
of us.
Renew your vision
in us.
Help us see
who you see.
