Dear God,
Epiphany, the day celebrated by the wise ones visiting the manger where the savior lay. I love this day. I have held many wonderful dinners complete with crystal, china and silver. Every time I read the story aloud, have a time of sharing and then pray. What a wondrous event Epiphany is.
This special day always inspires me to consider what gift I would have brought, what gift I now bring. I have no gold, frankincense or myrrh. What I do have is a gift of faith and love. I have faith because I believe. I believe in your love for all the world. I believe in grace, that lavish, loving, mercy-filled compassion that is available to all, regardless of condition, status, or belief. I believe in love, that strange, mysterious phenomenon that transforms us. I believe in you as the author of all such goodness. I believe you are the creator who not only created and creates the unimaginable cosmos but also the one who creates in us daily. I believe and I hope I return to the manger every day.
Bless you,
O Lord,
for your
magnificent spirit.
Thank you
for the power
that transforms.
Thank you
for love
that endures forever.
Love, Andrea
