Dear God,

As children of God you invite us to remain close to you, to anticipate your living presence and to find signs and symbols of your spirit in the world around us.  Sick and in the middle of the Caribbean Sea rocking back and forth in choppy waters, I lay in bed counting my blessings.  Although the sky was gray and rain slowly leaked from the sky, I knew the sun was shining above the clouds.

Throughout the day my daughter brought crackers and Sprite to help my tummy.  When food did sound good she brought me rolls and soup.  Her hands became your hands as she blessed me with sustenance and support.

As I slept and prayed, prayed and slept, I realized once again just how near you are, how you reach out to us and bless us.  I felt a sense of calm and peace because you gave me your peace and my child gave me warmth and comfort.  Even though I lay sick I was well with your mercy and compassion.

Heavenly Father,
you are
the greatest gift
in human life.
Your tender care
and loving ways
remind us
to look around,
to see
and to
experience faith
in every setting.
Your remind us
you are God
and we
are your
beloved children.

Love always, Andrea
