Dear God,
I sat mesmerized by the window as I watched the black turn to gray then to white and finally to the most beautiful color of pink as the sun rose in the eastern sky. As I sat with the spectacular beauty of a Maine sunrise, I thought of you and the stunning plan of creation.
So often we miss signs of your living presence. We take daily life for granted. We fail to be awed by the magnificent pictures all around us...like the laughter of a small child playing in the snow, an elderly person praying for family, a person comforting a friend in their loss, an all-sky sunset over the ocean, or the quiet joy of a song of hope playing in the background. All these have evidence of your presence in the here and now.
Lord, awaken us
to your presence.
From morning
to night
cause us
to look
and really see.
Bring back
to us
our ability
to get excited
by what
you provide.
Then give us
a grateful heart
with which
to praise you.
Love, Andrea
