Dear God,

I love Ash Wednesday because it reminds me who and whose I am.  When I feel those ashes being pressed into my forehead, I feel your love, your grace and your mercy.  I also feel your challenge.  I realize I have yet another journey to take.

As I prayed this morning it came to me what this season of Lent will mean for me.  You said it yourself.  This will be the season of trust for me.  You want me to trust you for all things.  You want me to turn to you, to take the risks of faith and trust you to lead me.  Even more you asked me to lead, to lead others to trust as well.  Wow, what trust you are placing in me.  I am humbled, Lord.

Holy, holy, holy
are you,
my Lord
and God.
Thank you
for drawing me near,
for speaking
to me
through prayer.
Thank you
for this
special season
of Lent.
May my trust
in you
bring blessing
and glory
to your name.
