Dear God,

There is always a battle for loyalty, loyalty to family, loyalty to country, loyalty to the team, loyalty to spouse and loyalty to every other thing that demands loyalty.  I have to confess I struggle with the loyalty question particularly when it comes to patriotism during worship.  To whom am I being asked to be loyal?

I want to give you my wholehearted loyalty.  I want to serve no one but you.  I want to give all my love to you.  But how do I parcel out my loyalty to all others?

Teach me
your ways again,
O Lord.
Reveal to me
the secrets
of faith
and loyalty.
Help me find
my way.
