Dear God,

Sometimes as a church we fail you.  We function like a strictly human organization.  We have infighting, mean-spiritedness and forgotten mission.  When we don't get our way, we judge and blame others.  We forget you.

Oh, Lord, we are weak and selfish people.  We don't ask what you want, what your will is, what way you want us to do.  We squabble when others do not do what we think they should do.  We leave little to no room for your spirit to move.  We totally forget whose church it is.

Show us
the way,
dear God,
the way home.
Move us
to our knees
to pray,
to confess
and to repent.
Make us
one people again.
Forgive us, Lord,
cleanse us
from within.
Guide us
to love
once again,
I pray.
