Dear God,
Truly there is a season for all things just like the author of Ecclesiastes said. The bouquet of lilacs on our dining room table are slowly losing their scent. Their gorgeous tiny petals are drying up and falling. They are beginning to lean down. In a couple of days I will have to lay them to rest.
Yet, I smile thinking of them a couple of weeks ago. The buds were becoming blossoms. The scent was beginning to permeate the air. The branches were dancing in the wind. As I worked in the soil beneath them, the sweet scent was all around me. Even with dirt under my nails, sore achy joints and much yard work to do, I prayed giving thanks that the season of lilacs and spring flowers had arrived. Each day I felt wrapped in beauty. I felt your loving presence alive in nature. And I danced.
Thank you,
Creator God,
for the
wondrous gifts
of your spirit.
Help us
take in
every gift
and give thanks.
Bless you
for this
beautiful season.
Love, Andrea
