Dear God,
Every Sunday faith compels me to rise and worship with the community of faith. Getting up, taking prescription meds, eating breakfast, showering and dressing are all part of my preparation for worship. I not only get up to go to church, I get ready to meet you.
When we pause to reflect upon our intimate time with you, we realize there is so much more to faith than a set of beliefs and practices. Our faith places us in the realm of the holy, the sacred and divine. Our relationship, you and we or I, is the most intimate relationship we have. Not to be taken lightly, we first acknowledge you are God, we are simply your child, in a relationship of your choosing. When we realize the amazing gift it is, we have need to prepare our self for you just as a bride and groom prepare for each other.
Sunday mornings remind me I need to clean myself up for worship. When I consider my own irritability, my need for my own way, my lack of obedience and loyalty, my mistakes, sin and blase attitude, I realize I have some self house cleaning to do before I make ready to meet my loving creator.
Blessed Lord,
thank you
for your compassion.
Thank you
for inviting me in.
Thank you
for Sundays,
for worship
and for faith.
Love, Andrea
