Dear God,

The way to true peace is through you.  Every day we are bombarded by life.  Someone disappoints us. Our nation is at war with itself.  Our personal issues complicate.  We find ourselves muddied, mired down sometimes to the point of hopelessness.  It is nearly impossible to find peace that leads us to quiet rest.

Yet, each morning you call to me when I sit down with my circle of friends.  These saints of old whisper the secret mysteries of faith showing me the way to peace.  When I listen, really listen to their stories, I realize they are calling me to your peace.  And not just me but all of us.  You call to all your children whoever and whatever condition we find ourselves.

When we begin and end each day with you, when we walk with you daily and when we trust your promises and take your hand, we find that peace in the midst of our confusion and doubt.  No matter the trial or temptation, the hardship or pain or how high the stakes are, you call us to peace with you.  You want to clear our minds and open the windows to our heart and soul so the breeze of your holy spirit can gently breathe into us.  And that rhythmic sound can calm and give hope always leading us to your loving peace.
