Dear God,
You are the great I AM, the Light of the World and the Blessed Hope of our Salvation. When life becomes difficult, extremely painful, we turn to you for living water, holy air and spiritual food. In those horrible times, we go to you because no one, no thing can possibly give us what we need.
I think of people who are suffering because of hatred. Those whose churches and mosques have been bombed and families extinguished, for one, sit at your feet today because they have no where else to go for true comfort. They call on your name, weep their bitter tears and cry out for your help. They know you hear them and will provide.
In times of great suffering we spend much time at your feet. We weep until we can weep no more. We pour out our hearts repeating our stories over and over again. As an act of faith we trust you with the deepest of our deep and you never fail to be present with us. We may want a miracle, to miraculously stop the pain but it is in the midst of our grieving time that you deepen our faith, stretch our ability to survive and touch us with holy hands.
Holy Father,
hold us close.
Be the
holy drink
that will quench
our thirst,
holy food
that will
sustain us
and the light
that will
make a way
through the darkness
to show us
the way
to healing
and hope.
You are
our God
and we
are your children.
Thank you,
Blessed God.
Love, Andrea
