Dear God,

By faith, in faith and through faith we are enabled to do much more than we think possible.  Today I returned to a church I left because of a justice issue.  I did not know how I would feel going back; however, our dear friend Jerry died and I was part of his celebration of life.

What a joy to discover all my feelings of anger, injustice, sorrow, pain and hurt were gone.  You had done your healing work in me and I was able with joy to give and receive hugs and words of love and kindness.  While the choir sang, I sang along.  The group I sang with for years was the same group after nearly two years I sang with once again albeit from the pew.  Wandering in the fellowship room, we conversed about things old and new.  I realized surrender was complete, healing had claimed my soul and friendship was able to reestablish itself.  All this possible by your loving hand!

Amazing grace
is what
you give
when sorrow
need be
no more.
Thank you
for the gifts
of today.
Thank you
for Jerry,
in whose love
and memory
I returned
to experience
your grace.
I am blessed
because in
unbelievable and
unpredictable ways,
you did
your miracle work
in me.
You are God;
there is none
like you.

Love, Andrea
