Dear God,

You are teaching us to change ourselves.  In this broken world, we are needing to change, sometimes daily.  Perhaps we had gone too far in our practices, beliefs and behaviors.  We were breaking along the way and needed change.  We could not have imagined that a plague would come and turn us upside down, literally.  We had to change.

O God, you are the author of change.  You make us capable of change and transformation.  You know that change can remake and renew and reconstruct us.  Like clay in the potter's hand, we are malleable and can alter our state, therefore, altering our condition.  When in your hands, anything is possible.

Gracious and Compassionate God,
you are
the source
of our hope.
We thank you
for making us
able to change
in the face
of great difficulties.
Keep us close
to you
as we face
uncertain times.
