Dear God,

Surprises come in all colors and shapes.  I had the best surprise today.  I saw your hand all over the wondrous gift.

My daughter appeared out of my flower garden.  The most beautiful blossom of all, I opened my arms and charged toward her.  I hugged and hugged and hugged her.  I couldn't help it!

It has been six months since I hugged my 49-year-old Jenni.  The pandemic put signs on all our fronts..."Don't touch."  Rightfully so.  But today, I simply could not hold back.

When we look at life as a gift, such gifts like the surprise visit of my daughter become so much more. It is such a lovely gift that all I can do is utter heavenward, "Thank you; thank you; thank you."

and her
generous spirit.
