Dearest God,
As I worked out on the spiritual path, I smelled the scent of Applewood burning. Although I could not see wood burning, I could smell the scent of Autumn. Even though it is August, I caught a whiff of red, orange and gold leaves, S'mores cooking over a cool evening's campfire and apple dumplings bubbling in the oven. (Maybe I am hungry.)
You call us to live in the present moment with you, to cherish the given day and to give and receive the gifts of this day. At the same time you give us a quick peek of what is to come knowing you are already in Autumn as you are now in summer.
How wonderful it is to learn from you, to be reminded of your living, loving presence in all seasons at once and to revel in your mercy no matter whether we live in happy times or sad. Every day you greet us in the morning, walk with us all day long and bid us good rest at night. As well you are the God of our dreams.
On this particular day I sensed your magnificent and wondrous glory. I reveled with you!
Eternal God,
you are
the god
of today
but also
of tomorrow.
Thank you
for leading
and guiding us.
Thank you
for blessing us
every day.
Love, Andrea
