Dear God,

I love to awaken to your gentle presence every morning.  My first conscious thought is of you, thanking you for a good night's rest, my comfortable bed and the beauty of the morning opening up at early morning's dawn.

How do you provide such richness even before I rise?  Why?  There is nothing special about me.  I am positive I frustrate you with my recurring themes of irritation, loss and complaint.  And yet, you are generous with me.  You tend to my wounds, care for my concerns and challenge me in every area needing correction.  Your gracious love is very evident every single morning!

Glorious God,

thank you

for the gift

of your presence

morning after morning.

for morning greetings.

for speaking 

to me

all day long.

I am blessed

by you.
