Dear God,

Five words leaned into my mind this morning as I began to write, "the coming of your spirit."  The coming of your spirit, there can't be any more meaningful words than these.  The coming of your spirit includes anticipation, hope, assurance, peace and joy.  Something is going to happen.

In dark times we pray for your spirit to come, O God, and you never fail to appear.  We may not be aware but it happens nonetheless.  How do we know?  Because your son Jesus made a promise a long time ago.  "I will be with you always even to the end of the age."  

Today, dear God, may I surrender into your coming.  May I listen fully for your word.  May I reply yes to whatever you ask. 

Come, Lord Jesus, come.

May I

be ready

for you.

Cleanse my

own spirit

so that

your spirit

and mine

may meet,

pure and holy.
