Dear God,

It is quiet this morning.  No birds are singing.  The television is off.  The first morning light is just peeking through the trees.  What a perfect morning to listen to you, Living God.

Be still and know me, you say.  Be still; how hard at times it is to be still.  Yet, it is the most beautiful part of daily life.  In stillness and silence there is space for insight, wisdom, hope, reflection and most of all peace.  There is opportunity for learning, loving and being loved and leaning on you.  There two become one.  A precious time to drink living water and eat spiritual food, I can renew my soul in the quiet.  I long to live in this sacred silence for I long to live for you and in you.

Precious Lord,

take my hand,

lead me on,

let me stand.
