Dear God,

My sister turned 74 today.  Years ago we nicknamed one another Pal.  We always call each other Pal when we see or hear each other.  This morning I called and sang Happy Birthday to her.  Happy birthday, Pal, I cried out.

I am so grateful for Debi.  Just a year apart we listen and love one another.  Debi has been plagued by so much loss and sorrow, so much more than anyone should have to face.  I hate what has happened to her.  Although I have tried so many times to take away her pain, I knew then and now that I cannot eradicate all that has happened to her.  She just seems to be a magnet for trouble.  She is compassionate, loving, understanding, giving and helpful.  She is a good friend, a good sister and a good person.

In this her 74th year of her life, I ask for your generosity toward my sister.  I pray you will bless her with wisdom, mercy and discernment.  Please give her hope and peace and joy every now and then.  Hold her and keep her, I pray.
