Dear God,

At any moment, on any day, at any time we can awaken to your living presence and dwell.  You do not have doctor's hours or library hours or limited hours, rather your door is always open.  We don't even have to walk through the door, we can simply call your name.  What good news this is!  We do not have to wait.  You are always waiting for us!

Sometimes it is just nice to reflect upon times when this was so true for us.  I think of the time of my diagnosis of breast cancer, when my daughter first became estranged from me or when I lost someone I loved very much.  No one was as close to me as you.  I did not have to call a friend.  My friend was already waiting for me.

Holy, Loving God,
