Dear God,

After listing his worries and complaints, the psalmist remarked, "Hope in God."  I found his words comforting as I thought of the ways you allow us to complain and share our anxieties at the same time we proclaim our faith in you.  

It is in the midst of listing all that burdens us when we come to the realization that our only real hope is in you. Our minds are relieved to some extent, our hearts are softened, and our faith is strengthened when we come to you and open up.  Our perspectives change and our lives are made easier.

Compassionate God,

for the constancy

of your love

for us.

Thank you

for inviting us in,

for listening

and for 

answering our prayers.

Only you

give us

real hope.
