Dear God,

Silence, the great pause, the disentangling of distractions and making quiet space to hear the divine opens us to a vast space of sacred conversation, wandering and awestruck amazement.  Only in silence can we meet up with you, Great Master of the Cosmos, hear your voice and find new opportunities for faith, hope and joy.

Growing up even into my forties I was terrified of silence.  My imagination went wild with thoughts of destruction, fear and pain.  I filled the space in my home, auto and places I visited with sound.  The television, radio or CD player were always on.  But...then...one day.

I accepted your invitation to stumble into silence, to let go and to trust you.  Where it took me still stuns me with grateful praise.  My world opened up like never before.  Your light led me into the halls of eternity.  You and I, we danced among the stars.  We never left.

Holy God,

no one

leads us

to holy places

like you.

You surprise,

bless and 

teach us.
