Dear God,

We don't have to get perfect before we meet you.  We don't have to get our spiritual and emotional life in order before we can come to you.  We do not have to make sure our beliefs and practices are perfect either.  We can simply cry out, "Father" and you meet us right where we are.

What a gift to come as we are.  Too often we think we have to get everything right before coming into your presence.  But the beauty of faith is that we come to realize we are your children, not perfect, but still your children.  We can come dirty with scuffed knees and broken hearts or whatever state we are in and suddenly we can become aware that you have been with us all along.  Praise be to God!

comforting presence.

for walking

beside us

day after day.

Make us

keenly aware

of your nearness.
