Dear God,

I gazed upon Venus, the planet so bright in the night skies.  When darkness fell, this tiny circle began to sparkle like none other.  I thought of how light always shines in the darkness.

There may be no greater metaphor than that of light and darkness.  Your own son spoke of light in the darkness, about shining our light on a hill, not under a basket.  He declared himself the light of the world.

During all this political darkness in our world right now, it is so important we seek the light.  When finding it, we need to let it then shine through us.  There is nothing more beautiful than first light in the morning.  The darkness giving way, the light rises and shines, warms and radiates, heals and helps.

O Lord,
God of the Cosmos,
we look
to you
for light.
We want
to shine
your light.
We want
to be light
for others.
Guide us always
to your light.
We praise you!

Yours, Andrea
