Dear God,

How will we ever find peace if we do not become peace ourselves?  Whether we like it or not, we are connected to every nation and people on the face of the earth.  We may not like our neighbor but our neighbor is part of us.  We rely on our neighbor because they rely on us in this world.  We each serve a different function in the world.

But when we treat our neighbor like an enemy we bring disaster in our neighborhood and world.  When we label someone as an enemy, we have already begun to grow hatred in our heart, mind and soul.  When hatred has fertile soil in which to grow, it will grow and destroy in one way or another.

Please make peace

in us,

O Lord.

Shift our minds.

Remove every obstacle

to peace,

we pray.

Remind us

peace begins

with us.

If we 

sow hatred,

we will

increase hatred

but if

we sow peace,

the same

is true.

Help us,

we pray.
