Dear God,

Sometimes we do not want to see the light.  We close our eyes, our mind and our heart.  We do not want the light to illuminate our way.  We want to stay blind.

But your light comes anyway.  You want to shine your light on the world.  You want us to see truth.  You want to reveal to us the way of love and compassion and mercy.  You want us to be light bearers.  You want us to change the world by changing ourselves.

Let your

light shine,

Loving God,

on all

of us,

the whole world.

Penetrate our

cold, blind hearts,

minds and souls.

Warm us up

from the 

inside out.

Make light bearers

of us.

Shine brightly

through us,

Merciful God.
