Dear God,

Trust.  Everything in life includes trust.  We trust we are safe when we ingest medicine.  We trust our car is in good shape when we take a drive.  We trust our spouse will love us when we marry.  

Today I had to trust the surgeon to carefully open my husband's heart to replace his aortic valve.  I had to trust the anesthesiologist to give him the proper amount of medicine for him to sleep and wake up.  I had to trust the nurses to take care of him in ICU.  

Trust comes from you, dear Lord.  We have faith by trusting you to be God.  We trust your love to hold us, your power to lead us and your compassion to help us.  When we fully trust, we can believe the sun will rise, there will be oxygen to breathe and water to drink.  We can pray and you will hear.  We can walk in faith and you will walk beside us.  Trust gives us peace, hope and joy.

Holy God,

thank you

for the gift

of trust.

Help us

not only

to believe

in trust

but to

act by trusting.

Guide us today,

we pray.
