Dear God,

Letting go, surrendering, releasing is one of the most difficult challenges but also one of the most rewarding.  We hold on to things because they give us a way to stay stuck, to remain in place without healing or hope and to keep us from moving forward.  But holding on so tight can damage and destroy.  It can suck life out of us depleting us of vital energy, faith and blessing.  Yet, we still grasp tighter and tighter.

I am hearing that call right now, to let go.  The thought of it makes me deeply sad, yet it is a chance to heal myself and allow you to heal me as well.  More than all of this I want your divine hand on my soul.  I need it.  We all do.

Help me,

O God,

to surrender

once again

to you.

Lead me

to the

healing place

where all

that is

let go

remains in

your care.  

Pry my fingers

away from

all that

hurts me,

hurts all

of us,

I pray.
