Dear God,

How shall we find the truth, the kind that sets all people free?  How can it be truth if only some are set free?

When Jesus spoke the words of truth, "You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.", suddenly truth was something more than the absence of a lie.  It was a deeper gift that pushed through the sludge to strike gold.  It upends all that is not gold.  It frees from within.  It brings peace, hope and joy.  Real truth, not the garden variety but the real thing, changes everything. 

Oh Lord, we desperately need your truth.  We cannot exist with anything less.  We need all your people to be free, truly free.

Lord, guide us

to your

life-giving truth.

Lead my brother

and my sister,

my friends

and the stranger,

lead us all

to your truth.

Free us

from anything

that steals

your truth

that sets

people free.
