Dear God,

Last night I believe I heard angels sing as the cold, wintry air blew in my open bedroom window.  The front porch chimes tinkled and I listened as the late-night sounds appeared.  So glorious to know the neighborhood is asleep, Christmas lights are glowing and night owls are hooting.  It is a world most of us know nothing about when we fall into our beds, pray and fall into slumber.

Several times I have awakened late into the night to go to the bathroom and find several deer grazing in our front yard.  I stay quiet and watch as if I am the only one awake to see the beauty unfolding in front of me.  I murmur silently as I offer up my prayers of gratitude.  I feel so close to you, nature and the mystery of Advent!

Thank you,
for surprising moments
where your spirit
comes to us
face to face.
Thank you
for filling
our lungs
with holy spirit breath.
Thank you
for Advent love.

Yours, Andrea
