Dear God,

Eternal invites come to us every day.  Only those attentive will anticipate their arrival.

Today it was the Corinthian chimes singing in the wind on my front porch.  As I paused to listen, I recognized the sound of heaven calling me to sing, dance and join the holy.  There is something ethereal about unexpected music playing.  I swayed for just a moment but enough to feel the sacred drift into my own being.

Who is to say what really happens when the sacred finds us in unforeseen moments?  All I know is when it finds me, I know joy, peace and hope because I know who has come to visit.

Holy God,

you bring offerings

to calm

the mind

and heal

the soul.

You are always

reaching out

to us.

More often

than not,

we miss

the cues

but when

we are

struck by

the awesome beauty

of heaven,

we know

that we know.
