Dear God,
The farther I walk away from you, the darker my world becomes. Things become cloudy, murky and I cannot see what you see. However, the closer I come, the more I am able to see the world through your eyes.
I confess sometimes I don't want to see through your lens. When I observe evil in the world, particularly through self-serving leaders who have no compassion, no mercy, I do not want to view them as a beloved child of God. I don't want to hold them up in prayer or love them in any way. But then, when I hear you call my name, Beloved, I want to turn and run to your side. But to know and accept that I am loved but others are not, makes me blind.
Keep my eyes
on you,
Beloved God.
Keep me close.
Help me see
what and who
you see.
Help me love
as you love.
Yours, Andrea
