Dear God,
The mysteries of faith ever unfold as we trust you, lean in your direction, and follow your leading. I know it to be true.
As I continue to work in the woods with you, moving with your spirit to create a sanctuary for all those who will come, I am blessed again and again. As I put my shovel into the ground, I am amazed by the treasures I find. Some are just plain debris such as an old sock, broken glass, rusty cans, soda bottles, bike chain, pieces of metal, plastic bags, rope, paper, and more. But I have also unearthed colorful marbles, a dinner spoon, and an old Deutsche coin.
I realize more and more how human life can teach us spiritual lessons. As I dig in the dirt I recognize how we need to dig around in our spiritual lives. We need to uncover the unwanted debris that weighs us down so we can rid ourselves of those things that are not helpful at the least or are destructive to living a meaningful faith-filled life. As we work beside you to clean up, fix up, and beautify the earth, so do you give us the opportunity to do the same for our human lives.
Thank you,
O God,
for lessons
that teach us
to make
a life
of faith.
Thank you
for your love
that works
its way
into our hearts,
minds, and souls.
Thank you
for trusting us
to work
with you.
Love, Andrea
