Dear God,
Thank you for loved ones that have shaped my faith and my life! Today when I opened a letter from the monastery conducting a memorial service with luminary walkways honoring precious family and friends who have died, I thought about the beloved in my own life whose spiritual touch have bent my own life toward faith. For some it was their modeling, others their words, attitudes, and service to others and more whose love and grace inspired me. As I do my own inventory, I see the faces of many who indeed blessed my life with faith.
As I consider those persons in my life, I think of the ways you brought them to me or me to them. Some came because they were in my biological family and they reached out to me. Others were teachers and friends. There were even strangers whose acts or words renewed or restored me in some way. There were church members whose compassion met me right where I was when I needed help, prayers, or support. Then there were catholic sisters whose lives of faith turned me inside out causing me to draw deeper from the wells of faith.
I realize all these persons were gifts. You gave them to me reminding me "to whom much is given much is required" meaning all their gifts to me challenge me to give more meaningfully to others. I am blessed so I can bless others.
Thank you
for blessing me
with gifts,
so many gifts.
Thank you
for allowing me
to bless others.
You are God;
there is none
like you.
Thank you,
thank you,
God,
thank you.
Gratefully, Andrea
