Dear God,
One solitary light penetrates the darkness. In this early morning hour as I look outside my writing room, my neighbor's side light is on. Through my own window screen, the simple white globe stretches up, down, and out making it look like a beautiful cross. It makes me realize every spark of light is a reminder of the one great light in the world.
Why do we have such difficulty recognizing your light? Why do we attribute so much light to our own making? Yes, our neighbor turned on his light probably as a safety feature for their home but why can't we see more? What holds us back from declaring faith in our midst? Anything can be a divine symbol pointing us to you. Speaking for myself, every time I see signs of your living presence, peace pervades my soul and joy rises to the top of me. Why would we not want more and give thanks?
Bless you, Lord,
for your
many gifts.
Teach us
to look deeper
so we
may give more.
Show us
the way
to your light
so we
may return love
to you
and others
by faith,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
