Dear God,
Early this morning I spoke and then prayed. You called me out. Faith is not like a candy store, all sweets that can rot your teeth and cause failing health. It is more like a library, a place of learning, resources, tools, discovery, revelation, and wisdom. Faith is not one dimensional but rather comes in 3D.
Faith is not about what more I need but what I already have tucked away within me. Faith works or it does not work. Whether I have more assets or more liabilities, it doesn't really matter because faith is operable in every circumstance. Faith is not expecting you to do more but realizing more is expected from me.
As I consider life with all its ups and downs, I realize more and more my true wellness, joy, value, and perspective is not totally dependent on others. It comes to me from the well of living water. If I pause to drink from the well early each morning I fill myself to the brim and still have enough to share with other thirsty souls along the way.
As my faith is honed through hardship, celebration, challenge, and exploration, my life can become a seedbed of possibility.
Gently guide me
to you,
Holy God;
help me see
the truth
that sets people free.
Teach me
the ways
of faith
directing me within
so I
may drink
and live faithfully
in you,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
