Dearest God,

You open hearts to the truth so you can set your people free.  You open us up, then whisper, "Be still and know that I am God."  You ask us to listen, to wait, and to act in accordance with your will. In our waiting you give us your loving spirit to soothe, calm, and feed us with your hope, your comfort, and your peace. You breathe your light and life into us.  You fill us with your merciful compassion.

When we follow you, when we take intentional steps along your pilgrim path, you meet us in the most wonderful way.  You appear to us in the unexpected, greeting us with love and a challenge to learn, trust, and embrace your divine will.

An unexpected happening occurred this week which brought trouble to the soul.  You spoke and we listened.  How grateful I am for your spirit talk.

Gracious God,

thank you
for your
compassionate way.
Thank you
for leading
and guiding us
this week.
Your way
is always
the better way.
