Dear God,

The plane is still missing after many days.  Authorities are trying to find it.  Relatives and friends pray pleading for answers.  Sorrow reigns.

Grief can eat away at our insides, O Lord.  When we cannot understand and our longing is deep, we feel such pain.  The families and friends do not understand and they are full of anxiety.  They need your mercy, Kind God; they need your help.  Rain your compassion on them.

When pain is felt in other places in the world, how can we not feel for them?  How can we forget them or neglect them?  They too are our family, part of the whole human family.

Be present
to these families
Mighty God,
for you know
the answers
to their
painful questions.
Help those
in charge,
I pray.
Remind us all
to pray,
I ask.
