Dear God,

The feelings of not being wanted must be among the worst feelings in the world.  The sense of estrangement, abandonment, and in some way solitary confinement can ruin us from the inside out, breaking our hearts.  Is that what you felt on the cross?

The best feeling in the world is knowing we are wanted by you.  Like a loving parent you come beside us whispering the truth of your love and mercy.  You caress us with compassion assuring us of your steadfast love.  You tell us we are the beloved.  You remind us you never leave us alone.  You return our hope, fill our hearts, and teach us to keep walking toward life.

Thank you,
Compassionate God,
for the gift
of your love.
Help us feel
the connection
between the human
and the divine.

Love, Andrea
