Dear God,
Thanksgiving, expressing our heartfelt gratitude, what better way is there to connect with you? Saying thank you opens our heart, our mind, and our soul. In the open spaces you live to speak with us, to show us your presence, and to bless us. You warm our spirits and inspire us to stay close.
Today I am filled to overflowing with gratefulness. As I drive through the countryside to begin my covenant retreat, my eyes adoringly look upon all the colors of Fall. Not only is it pleasing to the eye, it fills me with joy and gladness. Those feelings always draw me back to you who creates Autumn in all its glory.
Being thankful keeps us from always wanting, demanding more. It keeps us appreciative of what we have, what we see, hear, touch, and feel. It makes us live in the present moment where what is is more important than what may be.
As we consider the ways you touch us, Lord, thanksgiving always arises and we are compelled to give thanks.
Bless you,
O Lord,
for blessing us.
Thank you
for touching
and inspiring us,
for helping us
see our blessings.
Thank you
for giving us
grateful hearts
where we
can express
our gratitude
to you.
Love always, Andrea
