Sunday, November 1, 2015

Dear God,

The day is fresh, even the sun is sleeping.  Today is a new day, clear of clutter and debris.  Today can be anything, a good day, a bad one, miserable or meaningful.  I can honor you today or disgrace you.  The choice is mine.

I so want to live faithfully, to please you in all I do.  I want to be humble not arrogant.  I want to give praise instead of moaning and groaning.  I want to bless all those around me, those in my home, on the road, and in the stores.  I want to bless loved ones and strangers alike.  The choice is mine.

This is your day, a day for worship, prayer, your word, thanksgiving, and silence.  I can gather with the church or stay away.  I can join in the Our Father with other voices or refuse.  I can lift my voice in songs of faith or keep silent.  The choice is mine.

Holy Father,
thank you
for this
blessed day
and for
the opportunity
to gather
with the church.
Thank you
for allowing
us imperfect people
to gather
with you.
Thank you
for helping me
make choices
of faith.

Love, Andrea
