Dear God,
I know I talk a lot about transformation, Lord, but it seems you spent most of your earthly life transforming people. Like turning fisherman into disciples who would eventually sacrifice their lives for the sake of the gospel, or a lonely, unclean leper who went leaping through the town making witness to your healing power, or Saul, a zealot who rounded up Christians for punishment and/or death to Paul, an amazing missionary apostle whose heart beat for Jesus and Gentiles. Yes, you transformed people who transformed others with your Holy Spirit power.
You do the same today. You take the most unlikely people and change them, their heart, their mind, and their spirit. You show us your power by using it for good.
As I reflect upon those I know or have read about, I see your loving power at work. I see faith bud and blossom. I see love and compassion sprout and grow as ordinary strangers reach out to touch and help people in need. I see the many ways your transforming power has changed my life and I am so thankful, so very, very thankful for all you have done for all of us.
Almighty God,
change us;
we need it.
Change our communities
and world;
we need it.
Change our planet;
we sorely need it.
Change each one
of us,
I pray.
Enable us
to be
change agents
for you.
Love, Andrea
