Dear God,

This morning I watched a chubby, gray squirrel run along the top of the fence that borders our property.  As I gazed out the window, he paused, stopped, and looked back at me. For a moment it looked like he was smiling.

Although we don't typically try to balance ourselves on top of a fence row, we do sometimes walk a very narrow tightrope.  We have to be focused, nimble of foot, and quiet as we seek to get to where we are going.  Yet, at times you call to us, asking us to pause in our journey to look out.  You want to gain our attention so we can see you, gain strength and courage, and bless us on our walk of faith.

Thank you,
Blessed God,
for your call.
Thank you
for holy moments
that energize us
along our
pilgrim walk.
Thank you
for surprises
that come
when we
look up
and out.

Love, Andrea
