Dear God,
Just a few weeks ago it was a small budding plant. When I was finally able to plant it in the ground, it wilted and looked like it had stopped growing. A couple leaves turned downward and finally fell off. Although it was in a sunny spot and got plenty of water, it still looked like it would not make it. I refused to give up on it! I talked with it and kept on keeping on. One day it took off and today it produced its first beautiful pink morning glory. I was so excited.
That little plant spoke volumes to me. It reminded me that spiritual and emotional growth is sometimes drudgingly s.l.o.w. You give us living water to keep us hydrated. You give us light to feed the inner soul. You give us small talks to stop us from giving up. Then one day we seem to rise up out of our dark bed.
We so often forget you are at work in our lives. Your Holy Spirit is always with us encouraging us to be patient. You provide resources for us even though we may not recognize it. You enrich the soil of our faith and keep us on the watch for new buds and greater heights. All the while your love is working inside us. Praise be to God!
Holy God,
thank you
for remembering us.
Thank you
for your patience
and tender care.
Thank you
for all
your gifts
to keep us going.
Love, Andrea
