Dear God,

Yesterday you brought to mind the gift of the human senses.  As I baked tasty breads and yummy cookies, the sweet aroma wafted through my home.  As I played Christmas music I listened to beloved lyrics and melodies that always bless.  As I drove in the dark to the grocery store for more ingredients I gazed at Christmas lights, red, green, yellow, blue and white.  Every sense was heightened as I saw, smelled, tasted, touched and heard you in my midst.

You give us opportunity every day to witness your amazing, living presence in the world.  You are proclaiming your presence to us through every sense.  When we become aware, we suddenly see like never before.  And what happens next?  Praise, of course, loving praise.

Holy God,
giver of all good gifts,
thank you
for the blessing
of the senses.
Thank you
for what
they tell us.
Thank you
for making yourself known.
