Dear God,
When labor pains begin and we feel life bursting within us, we know you are birthing something new inside. I really thought my sister would simply refuse to rise from her bed ever again over the horrible murder of her only son. But you had a different idea. You knew what was possible; therefore, you began to stir in her perhaps like never before. After years she searched for you in your church and there she went with others looking for the same hope, peace, and faith.
You want to give birth in us, O Lord. You know new life is what will restore us, give us balance once again, and empower us for the future. You know the dead can rise and when we watch others do so, we come to believe it ourselves.
How blessed are we who are watching my sister! How blessed are we who see faith's light shining in her. How blessed are we this Advent season knowing hope is always possible even where chaos reigns in our nation and world. How blessed are we to know you!
Thank you,
Heavenly Father,
for the blessing
of new life.
Thank you
for miracles
that still occur.
Thank you
for love
that is
never ending.
Love, Andrea
