Dear God,

Who kills children?  Who wants to destroy human lives?  One very troubled young man snuffed out the lives of promising children.  Whose fault is it?

Lord, you said to love one another as you love us.  You called us a family, made us one.  "Tend my sheep," you directed us.  Yet, we still carelessly live without loving.  And the weak and heavy laden are falling at our side.  We let them starve, put them in jail or forget them.  How is it possible?  When we have been loved by you and we see the abundance in your love, how can we not love others in some way?

How will the world ever know you are love if we are not loving?

Open our eyes
to the needy,
the hopeless
and helpless.
Give us hearts
that beat
with compassion.
Make us loving,
dear Father.

Love, Andrea
