Dear God,
It seems as if you are always calling us to say goodbye to one thing and hello to another. Goodbye to one perspective and hello to something else. Goodbye to yesterday, hello to today. Goodbye to loss, hello to gain.
The word that always comes with goodbye is surrender. You call us to surrender what was to what is or what is to become. You invite us to let go so we can grab forward. Sometimes in difficult situations that is easy. We can't wait to release pain and suffering. At other times it is much more painful. And yet, faith is enough to help us in the goodbye/hello process.
As I am saying goodbye to summer and hello to fall, I know you are urging me to let go of some things in order for me to move forward to say hello to the new, the next chapter. Trust and faith are all I need.
Bless you,
O God,
for daily reminders
of faith's call.
Thank you
for the constancy
of your
living presence
that aids us
in our transition.
You are
the blessing,
the best blessing
of all
in times
of transition.
Thank you.
Love, Andrea
