Dearest God,

It takes so long to clear the spiritual path of weeds, debris and invasive plants.  The invasive species, all of them, grow so fast.  They plague the ground and take over.  We can cut, pull, rip out, dig and destroy but they come back again.  There is a spiritual lesson in this.

We all have so many weeds to pull, to pluck up in order to clear and clean our own dwelling places.  Mine attempt to take over too ridding me of the good, orderly plants needed to be all I can be.  Resentment and bitterness are two invasive vines that grow up, encircle and try to choke off all the good stuff.  I hate it; yet, I suffer daily with these.

Loving God,
show me
the way
to clean,
healthy living.
Rid me
of all
that keeps me
distant from you.
I want
to draw close
to you.
Please forgive me.
Clean me up,
I pray.

Love, Andrea
